Quality speakers have been lined up for Lincolnshire Gateway Trust's third annual Education Conference for staff.

It will take place on inset day Monday, 7th April, with all teaching colleagues and education-based support staff attending the event from our 10 academies, hosted at Waltham Toll Bar Academy.

Chief Executive Officer Martin Brown said it follows the hugely successful event hosted by Louth Academy a year ago.

"I am really looking forward to the training day," said Martin.

"One of the big takeaways from last year was the importance of meeting colleagues from across the Trust.

"We must continue to share best practice and collaborate to maximise the opportunities to deliver the best teaching and learning experiences for our young people.

"Our staff are our biggest asset. This training day demonstrates our commitment to the development of staff to benefit our children and our academies.

"We have a host of quality speakers and presentations, carefully selected to help colleagues' continued learning and professional development."

A wider range of topics will be covered by guest speakers, including SEND, staff welfare and leadership.

Author, former headteacher and CEO of Leadership Matters, Andy Buck, will give the keynote speech before leading three different sessions throughout the day.

Other speakers include:

  • Rachel Johnson, CEO of PiXL and podcaster
  • Paul Ainsworth, Infinity Academies Trust's Education Director
  • John Murphy, former CEO of Oasis Community Learning
  • Steve Willshaw, UK Connector for Functional Fluency International
  • Patrick Ottley-O'Connor, former headteacher who specialises in staff wellbeing

The conference will also include sessions on SEND, Positive Regard, autism, Trauma Informed Schools and working in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council.

Martin said: "I am grateful to the many staff who have made this day possible. I look forward to seeing you all for our third annual education conference."
